Candy Melonz Cannabis Derived Terpenes:

 While this is just an opinion, we personally think this is the most fascinating smelling 100% cannabis derived terpene we’ve seen to date. Honestly, it smells like tropical candy or fresh cut honeydew more than actual cannabis. There’s still an undeniable gassy note lingering behind it, but it smells so good it almost smells fake.

The flavor once mixed is exactly the same as it smells, which is often not the case with concentrated CDT’s. Think juicy melon candy with floral notes, honey, and a hint of marshmallow cereal. Drizzled with a sophisticated touch of gasoline. In other words, yes, it’s still dank. 

The lineage is somewhat of a secret, as it’s ordinarily something people would withhold in tight circles where it’s normally only grown for hash production. With that said, the flavor profile on it is more what you’d expect from actual hash rosin. To get to have it extracted for terps is truly a treat. It definitely has an authentic sativa-dominant lineage and the composition is like nothing we’ve seen.

Not to get too into the weeds here, terpenes that normally make up a major percentage of all the big name hybrids/indica leaning strains were virtually non-existent in the Candy Melonz. Instead, it contains above average levels of multiple forms of Farnesene, Bisabolenes, and Guaienes. Perhaps more importantly, it has a very unique assortment of esters and ketones like ethyl Senecioate, ethyl Hexanoate, and 2-heptanone. While those compounds might not sound like anything exciting to many people reading this, they’re some of the same ingredients you’d want to use if you were formulating an artificial honeydew flavor. Coming from someone with a flavor formulation background, it’s fascinating to see a cannabis plant naturally emulate such a complex flavor profile. 

While we still prefer our Diesels, Skunks, and OG’s, Candy Melonz deserves recognition as one of the most unique terpenes we’ve seen come off a cannabis plant. Highly recommended for every lineup as it will stand out against every other strain, without question. Was an “automatic keeper” for us.
